Education Manager

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring an Education Manager to join our growing team.

The Education Manager will be the internal authority on brand standards, product knowledge and company history. The Education Manager is responsible for the education of brand standards internally and externally, establishing and leading best in class brand education programs. The Education Manager will support the sales team, key wholesalers, AB colleagues, trade partners, and clients with industry-leading educational resources on company history, products, spirits appreciation, and the pairing of spirits with food. They will prepare lesson content, coordinate classes, and fully facilitate the educational process within the organization. The Education Manager works independently under the loose general guidance of the Vice President of Marketing. This role is vital to the continued growth of Cutwater Spirits.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead coordination, planning, and execution of new market launch events and field brand activations alongside Sales Team, Wholesalers, and third-party vendors
  • Lead implementation of spirits and brand education for internal sales team, internal training initiatives, and provide direction on consumer facing education initiatives
  • Act as the face of the company at functions and events with retailers, consumers, and wholesalers
  • Ensure educational presentations and events are planned and executed in accordance with overall goals, and recapped to Management Team
  • Ensure educational events and presentations are executed in compliance to all legal requirements
  • Ensure necessary educational assets have been approved and scheduled
  • Understand and communicate unique selling propositions and brand standards Sales Team, Wholesalers, and third-party vendor
  • Train and coach Brand Ambassadors on company history, products and brand standards
  • Partner with Sales Team to make presentations to wholesalers and chain buyers
  • Work closely with the sales team and other internal stakeholders to manage new product/market launches including: product information, distributor education and events
  • Collaborate with the Tasting Room to educate team members on products, company history and brand standards
  • Develop deep understanding and ownership of brand voice and knowledge as it is represented to the public

Regional Sales Manager, Los Angeles / Orange County

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Regional Sales Manager based in Los Angeles or Orange Country, CA to join our growing team.

The Regional Sales Manager plays a vital role in growing Cutwater Spirits’ market-share by building strong relationships with distributors to achieve optimal sales within a designated geographical area. The Regional Sales Manager leverages analytical and communication skills to develop Sales Representatives and assist with distributor sales forces to execute national marketing and sales strategies. The Regional Sales Manager also works with distributors to achieve stretch targets and ensure compliance in accordance with agreed upon standards. They provide inspiring leadership to a team of workers, motivating them to work hard while having fun and passionately sharing the Cutwater Spirits story. The Regional Sales Manager works independently under the general guidance of the Director of Sales, California/Pacific Northwest.

While the company is headquartered in San Diego, CA, this position spends of the bulk of their time in the field in their assigned market.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Execute national marketing programs to achieve all sales related objectives including volume, share, distribution, and shelf space
  • Ensure continued success in home and away markets through creating plans to meet volume and distribution goals while holding local sales representatives accountable
  • Lead sales team by setting expectations for call frequency, inventory maintenance, display execution, point of sale placements, shelf placement, stock and inventory levels, promotional activities, set up and manage pricing, and follow up on delivery issues
  • Review target accounts to ensure brands are performing to expectations while establishing incentives to exceed those expectations
  • Develop and grow both off and on-premise channels with award winning spirits and mixers
  • Effectively partner with wholesalers – building positive relationships with all key management and decision makers
  • Develop sales forecasts and monthly projections
  • Monitor sales and marketing expenses
  • Develop a high producing sales team
  • Introduce and sell in new items and packages – designing programs to assure a successful launch through the sales force
  • Effectively partner with wholesalers – building positive relationships
  • Analyze sales data and present information to wholesaler sales teams

Floor Staff Lead

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring for a Full Time Floor Staff Lead to join our growing Tasting Room & Kitchen team.

The Floor Staff Lead is responsible for providing leadership on the floor in creating excellent and memorable experiences for our customers as they visit our Tasting Room and Kitchen. They role model for other FOH staff the guest experience including greetings, providing recommendations, taking orders, delivering food and bussing tables.  They tell the story of Cutwater Spirits and share insight into the products and company.  They provide memorable experiences of Cutwater Spirits turning visitors into life-long fans of our company and products.  This position works under the direction of the Floor Manager.

As Our New Floor Staff Lead, You Will: 

  • Greet guests, providing a warm and genuine welcome
  • Ensure that the server stations are adequately stocked with tableware, napkins, and condiments
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests
  • Enter orders to POS system and process payments
  • Answer guest questions regarding recommended items, meal ingredients and preparation
  • Provide guests with instructions on navigating the Tasting Room, taking a tour and making purchases in the retail shop
  • Engage with guests to ensure they’re happy with their experience
  • Act as an extension of management, by developing floor plans, initiating breaks, and delegating necessary tasks throughout the shift for an exceptional guest experience and overall, coordinated team
  • Acting as a Brand Ambassador, constantly growing/sharing the wealth of knowledge in our brand, spirits, cuisine, and culture for our guests to truly understand Cutwater Spirits
  • Respond to complaints and help to resolve them
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Clear dishes and glasses throughout customer experience
  • Being able to fulfill all duties as a busser, food runner and server

The Bartender performs daily bar operations and maintains established operating procedures to provide the highest level of customer services while creating a positive environment and experience for guests. They multitask and manage a fast-paced work flow while taking orders and preparing classic and innovative beverages. They continue to engage with guests to ensure they’re happy with their experience. This position works under the direction of the Tasting Room Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Consistently deliver excellent customer service by taking orders, preparing them efficiently, and building a rapport with clientele
  • Enter orders to POS system and process payments
  • Handle card and cash transactions, ensuring that all funds in the cash drawer are accurate and accounted for at the end of the shift
  • Keep an eye on patron intoxication levels and respond appropriately
  • Identify customer issues, and work with management when needed to resolve promptly while maintaining a safe and positive environment
  • Unpack deliveries and stock bar. Change beer kegs
  • Display genuine enthusiasm for the brand, products and company mission
  • Offer knowledgeable recommendations based on customer questions and assessment of customer needs and preferences
  • Check customer identification in compliance with law and Tasting Room standards.
  • Perform all opening and closing tasks are completed daily
  • Keep bar and bar area clean and organized

Distiller

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring for a Distiller to join our growing team in the production of our award-winning spirits and ready-to-enjoy cocktails.

The Distiller is responsible for daily production including mashes, fermentations, distillations, dilutions, barreling, proofing, and the production of non-alcoholic mixers including Bloody Mary mix, and ready-to-enjoy cocktails.  They are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall sanitization of distilling equipment and piping.  The Distiller also manages daily record keeping of production activities as required by State, Federal and other certifying agencies.

As Our Newest Distiller You Will:

  • Produce high quality spirits using a variety of stills
  • Produce wort and wash for distillation
  • Produce non-alcoholic mixers and ready-to-enjoy cocktails
  • Clean and sanitize distilling equipment
  • Complete daily distilling/quality logs and documentation
  • Ensure distilling and filtration quality standards are met
  • Manage distilling and CIP timing to ensure shortest cycle times
  • Properly use of PPE and safety protocols for distilling and cleaning
  • Coordinate with QA staff on product checks
  • Maintain a clean and organized distillery and food grade facility
  • Proof and blend spirits to specifications
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures

Production

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Production team member to join our growing team.

The Production team member works on packaging lines to complete various tasks necessary to ship finished products from Cutwater Spirits. The Production Team member is responsible for: can-filling machinery, bottle-filling machinery, boxing machinery, pallet wrapping machinery, and other general production operations. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work on packaging lines (canning and bottling)
  • Use a forklift to move materials and finished products
  • Unload packaging materials from pallets
  • Load finished products onto pallets
  • Maintain cleanliness of the distillery warehouse
  • Follows SOPs to ensure that products are packaged consistently
  • Works closely with the Production Manager to ensure smooth operation of packaging machinery and equipment
  • Performs daily start-up and clean-up procedures on all assigned packaging stations
  • Works with maintenance employees/personnel to assist with equipment problems and troubleshooting
  • Performs daily basic maintenance for machinery
  • Assists in the production records management
  • Works to achieve packaging/distribution short and long-term goals and metrics
  • Adheres to all safety precautions, rules and guidelines
