Sales Representative, Los Angeles

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Sales Representative based in Los Angeles to join our growing team.

Determined to grow market share in all segments of the business, our Sales Representatives are responsible for growing the company portfolio and engaging consumers through point of sale, shelf assortment, and creative displays at retail accounts. In addition, our Sales Representatives identify new market and business opportunities to increase market share while building and maintaining relationships with accounts and retailers. The Sales Representative will work independently under the loose general guidance of the Regional Sales Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive sales in off-premise and on-premise retail business
  • Assist with merchandising and the implementation of programming in chain locations
  • Achieve distribution, display space, and shelf placement objectives in off-premise retail accounts
  • Secure menu features, back bar placement, and promotions to bring brand awareness in on-premise retail accounts
  • Increase brand presence in the marketplace by facilitating promotional and tasting events each month

Production Technicians

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Production Technician to join our growing team.

The Production Tech works on packaging lines to completes various tasks necessary to ship finished products from Cutwater Spirits. The Production Tech is responsible for: can-filling machinery, bottle-filling machinery, boxing machinery, pallet wrapping machinery, and other general production operations. They work as a valuable team member, and the position’s focus is on maintaining consistency and timeliness within the production function—all while maintaining high quality.  This position works under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Daily Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

  • Work on packaging lines (canning and bottling).
  • Use a forklift to move materials and finished products.
  • Unload packaging materials from pallets.
  • Load finished products onto pallets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the distillery warehouse.
  • Follows SOPs to ensure that products are packaged consistently.
  • Works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth operation of packaging machinery and equipment.
  • Performs daily start-up and clean-up procedures on all assigned packaging stations.
  • Works with maintenance employees/personnel to assist with equipment problems and troubleshooting.
  • Performs daily basic maintenance for machinery.
  • Assists in the production records management.
  • Works to achieve packaging/distribution short and long-term goals and metrics.
  • Adheres to all safety precautions, rules and guidelines.
  • May stack and palletize finished product and prepare storage.
  • May manually operate all phases of packaging in the case of machinery failure/maintenance.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Distiller I

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Distiller I to join our growing team.

The Distiller I is responsible for daily production including mashes, fermentations, distillations, dilutions, barreling, proofing, and the production of non-alcoholic mixers including Bloody Mary mix, and ready-to-enjoy cocktails. They are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall sanitization of distilling equipment and piping. The Distiller also manages daily record keeping of production activities as required by State, Federal and other certifying agencies. This position works under the loose general direction of the Operations Manager. This position is essential for products manufactured in the distillery and food grade production area.

Daily Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

  • Produce high quality spirits using a variety of stills.
  • Produce wort and wash for distillation.
  • Produce non-alcoholic mixers and RTE cocktails.
  • Clean and sanitize distilling equipment.
  • Implement daily SOPs.
  • Complete daily distilling/quality logs and documentation.
  • Ensure distilling and filtration quality standards are met.
  • Manage distilling and CIP timing to ensure shortest cycle times.
  • Properly use of PPE and safety protocols for distilling and cleaning.
  • Coordinate with QA staff on product checks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized distillery and food grade facility.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Proof and blend spirits to specifications.
  • Prepare botanicals for gin distillation.
  • Document production volumes and track raw materials receipt and usage for government mandated reporting.
  • Verify by instrumentation the proof/% alcohol, color, clarity, sugar content, preservatives, temperatures and pH on distilled products.
  • Communicate with various team members about quality issues and enforcing all relevant quality procedures.

  • Work takes place in cold, hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods.

  • 2+ year experience in a production brewery or distillery (or beverage manufacturing plant or equivalent experience).

Maintenance Tech II – Second Shift

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Maintenance Tech II – Second Shift to join our growing team.

The Maintenance Tech II – Second Shift will be accountable for all distillery, warehouse, and restaurant/kitchen maintenance objectives. These objectives include corrective and preventative maintenance, spare parts, overall equipment reliability, and safety. This position is responsible for asset reliability and the timely completion of all maintenance activities.  This position works under the immediate day-to-day direction of the Maintenance Technician III/Lead and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Daily Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

  • Repairs, replaces, adjusts, and aligns components of machinery and equipment
  • Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance and repairs to manufacturing equipment.
  • Observes electrical and mechanical devices/systems in operation to located causes of trouble.
  • Repairs and replaces defective parts.
  • Service and repair plant facilities equipment such as air compressors, heat exchangers, boilers and chillers.
  • Adjust and test machinery.
  • Make repairs such as chains, sprockets, bearings, and belts.
  • Rebuilds pneumatic cylinders, valves, pumps, gearboxes and other drive train components.
  • Utilize PM system to view work orders assignments, document parts usage and labor hours, add notes of work completed, and close out the work order.
  • Follow procedures for documenting parts usage and reporting inventory levels.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop floor, welding area, and spare parts area while ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Participate in activities to further drive technical efficiencies of existing organizational processes.
  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance calls.

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Maintenance Tech III/Lead – Second Shift to join our growing team.

Our new Maintenance Tech III/Lead – Second Shift will be accountable for all distillery, warehouse, and restaurant/kitchen maintenance objectives. These objectives include corrective and preventative maintenance, spare parts, overall equipment reliability, and safety. This position is responsible for asset reliability, and for coordinating, planning and timely completion of all maintenance activities.  They set the parameters for daily responsibilities and activities of the Maintenance Technicians.  This position works autonomously under the general loose direction of the Vice President of Operations.  This leadership position is essential for the Cutwater Spirits to operate at the desired level.

Daily Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

  • Manage plant-wide maintenance maximizing asset reliability, uptime, and cost effectiveness with available resources improving overall equipment efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop floor, welding area, and spare parts area while ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Provide direct supervision and/or labor, technical direction, administrative support, and leadership for the Maintenance team.
  • Orchestrate and participate in activities to further drive technical efficiencies of existing organizational processes.
  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Build planned and preventative maintenance schedules for all distillery/warehouse and restaurant/kitchen assets.
  • Implement team accountability and work order performance tools to deliver optimal asset uptime.
  • Annually review recommended spare parts list for all assets, and build a critical spare parts inventory.
  • Owns daily and weekly work order planning, assignment and weekly work order review at production meetings.
  • Owns maintenance team schedule and coverage planning.

Assistant Distiller

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring an Assistant Distiller to join our growing team.

Warehouse Technician I

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Warehouse Technician I to join our growing team!

The Warehouse Technician I is an entry level position in the warehouse, supporting warehouse activities.  This entails transporting raw materials and finished goods throughout the distillery, loading and off-loading of trucks for receipt/shipment, and the building and delivering of Tasting Room orders using the forklift.  This position works under the direct supervision of the Director of Supply Planning.

Daily Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

  • Using forklifts and pallet jacks to transport finished goods and raw materials around the warehouse.
  • Loading and unloading of trucks at dock.
  • Arranges and stages finished goods loads for orders, aligning with production schedule to ensure timely staging of finished goods orders for shipping.
  • Escalates issues to management
  • Receive and distribute raw materials throughout organization.
  • Stack and palletize finished product and prepare for storage.
  • Use a forklift to move materials and finished products.
  • Shuttle packaging between warehouses utilizing company truck.
  • Unload packaging materials from pallets.
  • Load finished products onto pallets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of primary and secondary warehouses.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions, rules and guidelines.
  • Performing duties of Production team member when needed.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years’ experience in forklift operations required.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • Experience with Inventory processes (preferred).
  • Experience driving non-CDL Box Truck (preferred).
  • Prior shipping/receiving experience (preferred).

CDL Driver

Cutwater Spirits is looking for a CDL Driver to add to our growing team!

The CDL Driver position acts is responsible for the transferring of raw materials and finished products between the various Cutwater warehouses. They are responsible for the monitoring and recordkeeping of all transfer/delivery vehicles per DOT standards. This position works under the general direction of the Director of Supply Planning.

Daily Duties, Functions, Responsibilities:

  • Be a contributing member of a process driven team.
  • Drive commercial delivery trucks, vans, and/or tractor-trailer combinations to transfer raw materials and finished products between warehouse locations.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork, documenting the transfer of items.
  • Ensure accurate completion of Department of Transportation checklist and report maintenance problems and accidents in a timely manner.
  • Manually load and unload product from end loader truck.
  • Provide support to greater Operations Team as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Conditions:

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to hold personal accountability for own decisions and actions.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service in high demand environment mentally and physically.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a safe driving record including zero DUI convictions.
  • Must be able to continually adhere to DOT regulations including successfully pass per-employment and random drug testing.
  • Able and willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid Class A – California Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • One (1) year or more of logistics/warehouse experience (preferred).
