Digital Brand Manager

Cutwater Spirits is hiring a Digital Brand Manager to join our growing team.

The Digital Brand Manager is responsible for creating and executing digital marketing strategies for Cutwater using knowledge of consumer behavior, shopper research, industry trends, and competitive insights.  They develop strategic media campaigns to drive brand storytelling, engagement and impressions aligned with business objectives. The Digital Brand Manager is responsible for developing, executing and evolving the Social Media Strategy based on company and consumer needs. This position analyzes results against targets and leads the strategy and execution of all consumer-facing paid and owned social media. In addition, they are accountable for providing consistent and on-going content via all digital content channels. The Digital Brand Manager also identifies and evaluates new digital technologies and uses Web analytics tools to measure site traffic to better optimize marketing campaigns, email marketing, social media, display and search advertising, and ecommerce initiatives.  The Digital Brand Manager works independently under the loose general guidance of the Vice President of Marketing.

Daily Duties, Functions, Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy and execution of all of consumer-facing paid, owned & earned digital media, creative & content development, media optimization, CRM programs, and ecommerce initiatives.
  • Management and oversight of digital creative agencies, content providers, media buying agencies, earned and paid digital influencers, analytics providers and other third-party integrators.
  • Constantly stay current on the dynamics of the digital industry, key trends, competitor activities, and best practices.
  • Work with Digital team on design and execution of pilots.
  • Manage budget and advocate for appropriate funding for all campaigns and other activations.
  • Provide data-driven insights and creative thought-starters during briefing process.
  • Shape the development of work that is grounded in actionable consumer insights with sound creative and appropriate channel mix while measuring performance and recommendations.
  • Understand platform/channel nuances and ensure team adherence to best practices.
  • Develop goals, KPI, and reports for digital campaigns that analyze content performance metrics and action optimizations.
  • Manage social media including announcements, programs and influencer outreach.
  • Manage the day-to-day execution of the social media strategy, including scheduling, posting, and community management on all current and other emerging social platforms.
  • Build and oversee the monthly content calendar to plan optimized content for each platform and digital touchpoint.
  • Collaborate with creative team to proactively develop and deliver best-in-class digital content.
  • Develop deep understanding and ownership of brand voice and knowledge as it is represented digitally.
  • Own the collection and integration of user-generated content on social media and website.
  • Own the development and execution of social and digital media strategies against key initiatives including community building, fan growth, brand awareness, and advocacy.
  • Lead a team that delivers quality work through strong collaboration and innovative problem-solving approaches through direction, coaching, counseling, and training and development.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing or related field.
  • 5+ years Marketing experience. +3 years of digital experience.
  • Beverage industry or alcohol industry experience (preferred).
  • Experience in Integrated Marketing Communications, Brand management, and Digital creative development. Consumer Research/Segmentation and Digital media buying is a plus.
  • Experience in Social Media, including content creation/curating and community management.

Sales Representative, Los Angeles

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Sales Representative based in Los Angeles to join our growing team.

Determined to grow market share in all segments of the business, our Sales Representatives are responsible for growing the company portfolio and engaging consumers through point of sale, shelf assortment, and creative displays at retail accounts. In addition, our Sales Representatives identify new market and business opportunities to increase market share while building and maintaining relationships with accounts and retailers. The Sales Representative will work independently under the loose general guidance of the Regional Sales Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive sales in off-premise and on-premise retail business
  • Assist with merchandising and the implementation of programming in chain locations
  • Achieve distribution, display space, and shelf placement objectives in off-premise retail accounts
  • Secure menu features, back bar placement, and promotions to bring brand awareness in on-premise retail accounts

Lead Cook

Cutwater Sprits is currently looking for a Lead Cook to join our growing team!

The Lead Cook runs day-to-day kitchen operations by controlling quality of food, labor, inventory of product, and flow of kitchen. They prepare food items according to the recipes. They delegate tasks and jobs to cooks, and have a firm understanding of Cutwater menus and recipes to provide direction and quality control over dishes being prepped in the kitchen.  They maintain a clean and sanitary work area. This position works under the direction of the Executive Chef.

Daily Duties, Functions, Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry and vegetables using a variety of kitchen equipment and techniques.
  • Know and comply consistently with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service for our guests.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff and management to maintain effective product flow.
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
  • Open and close the kitchen properly, assists others and follows checklists for kitchen stations.
  • Understand and follows proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures.
  • Complete station prep tasks.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensure cleanliness of kitchen and equipment.

  • Work takes place in hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods of time.
  • Requires routine lifting of 40-60 pounds.

  • Requires frequent operation of a variety of kitchen machine/equipment.
  • Requires the ability to manipulate large quantities of food, dish-ware, cookware, etc. with hands.

  • Working knowledge of food and beverage industry – back of house operations.
  • Ability to manage responsibilities in a high-demand, fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability to operate all equipment in the kitchen.
  • Solid understanding of food properties and cooking methods across varied styles.

Education and Experience:

  • Prior restaurant kitchen experience – 3+ years minimum, depending on quality of experience.

Maintenance Technician II

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Maintenance Technician II to join our growing team.

The Maintenance Technician II will be accountable for all distillery, warehouse, and restaurant/kitchen maintenance objectives. These objectives include corrective and preventative maintenance, spare parts, overall equipment reliability, and safety. This position is responsible for asset reliability and the timely completion of all maintenance activities.  This position works under the immediate day-to-day direction of the Maintenance Technician III – Lead and reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Daily Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

  • Repairs, replaces, adjusts, and aligns components of machinery and equipment
  • Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance and repairs to manufacturing equipment.
  • Observes electrical and mechanical devices/systems in operation to located causes of trouble.
  • Repairs and replaces defective parts.
  • Service and repair plant facilities equipment such as air compressors, heat exchangers, boilers and chillers.
  • Adjust and test machinery.
  • Make repairs such as chains, sprockets, bearings, and belts.
  • Rebuilds pneumatic cylinders, valves, pumps, gearboxes and other drive train components.
  • Utilize PM system to view work orders assignments, document parts usage and labor hours, add notes of work completed, and close out the work order.
  • Follow procedures for documenting parts usage and reporting inventory levels.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop floor, welding area, and spare parts area while ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Participate in activities to further drive technical efficiencies of existing organizational processes.
  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance calls.

Physical Conditions:

  • Work takes place in cold, hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods.

  • Work often takes place at high elevations utilizing a lift.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or related field, or combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of technical food and/or beverage production relevant maintenance experience, including the operation of some power-driven equipment.
  • Boiler Maintenance and Operations Certified, preferred.

Warehouse Technician III Lead / Driver

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Warehouse Technician III Lead / Driver to join our growing team.

The Warehouse Technician III Lead / Driver position acts as gate controller for all inbound and outbound shipments. They organize and maintain inventory and stock control. They ensure that the storage areas and warehouse is kept clean and tidy, which includes identifying areas where processes could be improved. The Warehouse Technician III Lead /Driver is responsible for the accurate pulling, monitoring and record-keeping of all outbound shipments and the receiving and distribution of deliveries. They utilize reports to maintain their knowledge of the warehouse inventory. The Warehouse Technician III Lead /Driver prepares and processes all paperwork relating to the shipping of orders for customers. They will also be responsible for the transferring of raw materials and finished products between the various Cutwater warehouses and all record-keeping of all transfer/delivery vehicles per DOT standards. This position works under the loose general direction of the Director of Supply Planning.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing inbound/outbound shipments and schedule.
  • Stack and palletize finished product and prepare for storage.
  • Coordinating shipment schedules with Production and Supply Chain teams.
  • Manage finished goods inventory.
  • Manage packaging materials inventory.
  • Maintain inventory for sales racking.
  • Use a forklift to move materials and finished products.
  • Shuttle packaging between warehouses utilizing company truck.
  • Unload packaging materials from pallets.
  • Load finished products onto pallets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of primary and secondary warehouses.
  • Assist in production records management.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions, rules and guidelines.
  • Be a contributing member of a process driven team.
  • Drive commercial delivery trucks, vans, and/or tractor-trailer combinations to transfer raw materials and finished products between warehouse locations.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork, documenting the transfer of items.
  • Ensure accurate completion of Department of Transportation checklist and report maintenance problems and accidents in a timely manner.
  • Manually load and unload product from end loader truck.

The Production Tech works on packaging lines to completes various tasks necessary to ship finished products from Cutwater Spirits. The Production Tech is responsible for: can-filling machinery, bottle-filling machinery, boxing machinery, pallet wrapping machinery, and other general production operations. They work as a valuable team member, and the position’s focus is on maintaining consistency and timeliness within the production function—all while maintaining high quality.  This position works under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Daily Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

  • Work on packaging lines (canning and bottling).
  • Use a forklift to move materials and finished products.
  • Unload packaging materials from pallets.
  • Load finished products onto pallets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the distillery warehouse.
  • Follows SOPs to ensure that products are packaged consistently.
  • Works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth operation of packaging machinery and equipment.
  • Performs daily start-up and clean-up procedures on all assigned packaging stations.

  • Performs daily basic maintenance for machinery.
  • Assists in the production records management.

Distiller I

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Distiller I to join our growing team.

The Distiller I is responsible for daily production including mashes, fermentations, distillations, dilutions, barreling, proofing, and the production of non-alcoholic mixers including Bloody Mary mix, and ready-to-enjoy cocktails. They are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall sanitization of distilling equipment and piping. The Distiller also manages daily record keeping of production activities as required by State, Federal and other certifying agencies. This position works under the loose general direction of the Operations Manager. This position is essential for products manufactured in the distillery and food grade production area.

Daily Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

  • Produce high quality spirits using a variety of stills.
  • Produce wort and wash for distillation.
  • Produce non-alcoholic mixers and RTE cocktails.
  • Clean and sanitize distilling equipment.
  • Implement daily SOPs.
  • Complete daily distilling/quality logs and documentation.
  • Ensure distilling and filtration quality standards are met.
  • Manage distilling and CIP timing to ensure shortest cycle times.
  • Properly use of PPE and safety protocols for distilling and cleaning.
  • Coordinate with QA staff on product checks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized distillery and food grade facility.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Proof and blend spirits to specifications.
  • Prepare botanicals for gin distillation.
  • Document production volumes and track raw materials receipt and usage for government mandated reporting.
  • Verify by instrumentation the proof/% alcohol, color, clarity, sugar content, preservatives, temperatures and pH on distilled products.
  • Communicate with various team members about quality issues and enforcing all relevant quality procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Conditions:

  • Work takes place in cold, hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods.
  • Requires routine lifting of 40-60 pounds.
  • Conducts most work in a standing position.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping and lifting.
  • Requires frequent operation of a variety of warehouse machine/equipment.
  • Requires the ability to manipulate large quantities of bottles, packaging materials, hoses, pallets, etc. with hands.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understands and employs a Safety-First approach.
  • Ability to maintain a Food Handler’s Certification.
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently as well as strong team orientation and ability to work with diverse group of individuals.
  • Must successfully use simple math, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to operate laboratory instruments.
  • Strong technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Scheduling flexibility–ability to work a variety of shifts and availability on weekends and nights/overnights.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Education and Experience:

  • 2+ year experience in a production brewery or distillery (or beverage manufacturing plant).
  • Working knowledge of the brewing/distilling process.
  • Must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Assistant Distiller
