Maintenance Lead

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Maintenance Lead to join our growing team.

Our new Maintenance Lead will be accountable for all distillery, warehouse, and restaurant/kitchen maintenance objectives. These objectives include corrective and preventative maintenance, spare parts, overall equipment reliability, and safety. They will set the parameters for daily responsibilities and activities for the Facilities Technicians. This position works autonomously under the general loose direction of the Vice President of Facilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage plant-wide maintenance maximizing asset reliability, uptime, and cost effectiveness with available resources improving overall equipment efficiency
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop floor, welding area, and spare parts area while ensuring all equipment is properly maintained
  • Provide direct supervision and/or labor, technical direction, administrative support, and leadership for the facilities team
  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
  • Build planned and preventative maintenance schedules for all distillery/warehouse and restaurant/kitchen assets
  • Own daily and weekly work order planning, and weekly work order review at production meetings

Distiller

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring for a Distiller to join our growing team in the production of our award-winning spirits and ready-to-enjoy cocktails.

The Distiller is responsible for daily production including mashes, fermentations, distillations, dilutions, barreling, proofing, and the production of non-alcoholic mixers including Bloody Mary mix, and ready-to-enjoy cocktails. They are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall sanitization of distilling equipment and piping. The Distiller also manages daily record keeping of production activities as required by State, Federal, and other certifying agencies.

As our newest Distiller you will:

  • Produce high quality spirits using a variety of stills
  • Produce wort and wash for distillation
  • Produce non-alcoholic mixers and ready-to-enjoy cocktails
  • Clean and sanitize distilling equipment
  • Complete daily distilling/quality logs and documentation
  • Ensure distilling and filtration quality standards are met
  • Manage distilling and CIP timing to ensure shortest cycle times
  • Properly use of PPE and safety protocols for distilling and cleaning
  • Coordinate with QA staff on product checks
  • Maintain a clean and organized distillery and food grade facility
  • Proof and blend spirits to specifications
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures

Digital Content Creator

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Digital Content Creator to join our growing team.

The Digital Content Creator is responsible for generating, gathering, and organizing photos and video assets for Cutwater Spirits. This will include content for social media, the website, and additional projects. The Digital Content Creator will be accountable for creating quality video and photo content and present it in a way that is both engaging and visually appealing. They are responsible for the editing and overall production of media to represent the brand, voice, and storytelling to further brand engagement. The Digital Content Creator works independently in their generation of creative ideas for content under the general guidance of the Director of Marketing.

While based in the company’s headquarters in San Diego (Miramar) for administration work and for gathering content in house, this position also spends time in the field gathering content in various markets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Combine creative storytelling skills with the unique voice of Cutwater Spirits to create and execute brand-right photos and content that resonates, engages, and elicits emotion from defined target audience groups
  • Generate photographs and videos with imagery that tells the story of what is happening at Cutwater Spirits in the facilities, with the employees, etc. (the story behind the brand)
  • Post-production tasks including editing, organization, and storage
  • Attend various Cutwater events (at headquarters and in the field) to capture photos and videos

Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager to join our growing team.

Our new Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager will be responsible for directing and implementing all company environmental, safety, sustainability, and security programs. This includes ensuring compliance with applicable environmental and safety laws, standards and requirements. This position is both analytical and tactical, requiring administrative skill and people skills. This position works autonomously under the general loose direction of the General Manager. This leadership position is vital for the safety and compliance of the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Development of safety improvement initiatives and the daily management of ongoing safety operations
  • Providing insight, training, and information for senior management team regarding the safety strategic objectives and regulatory compliance issues
  • Manages the safety activities associated with all functions within the company
  • Conducts risk assessments to identify and control environmental and safety risks to reduce injury and costs

Quality Technician

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Quality Technician to join our growing team.

Our new Quality Technician is responsible for performing quality control checks on products during the production cycle to ensure items meet safety regulations and consistent product specifications. The Quality Technician is involved in the entire course of manufacturing including shelf-life stability. They inspect components prior to processing, analyze products during production, and test finished goods. They support the ongoing lab environment by maintaining glassware, maintaining logs and record books, troubleshooting and resolving problems, and helping with special projects.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Verify by wet chemistry or instrumentation the proof/% alcohol, color, clarity, sugar content, preservatives, temperatures, and pH on all products from processing
  • Verify above components are still in spec and all packaging materials are correct
  • Gather and plate micro samples of the shelf stable non-alcoholic products, raw materials, and various products
  • Notify management when products are out of specifications
  • Verify of on-going processes and recorded data in food grade production facility area
  • Calibrate lab instruments, gauge, and thermometers in accordance with daily or weekly schedule
  • Analyze products in various stages along the production process as well as finished products (may include testing and record keeping of incoming raw materials)
  • Accurately record process deviations and/or when production is (or will be) outside of control parameters
  • Communicate with various team members about quality issues and enforcing all relevant quality procedures
  • Assist with developing any necessary reporting systems, data analysis, and aid in establishing SOPs to improve process controls and overall quality
  • Support compliance activities associated with Food Safety Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Aid in the facilitation of sensory panels and recording results

Dishwasher Needed at Cutwater Spirits (Miramar Area)

Cutwater Spirits is currently looking for a new full-time Dishwasher to join our growing team! If you like to work hard while having fun, you’re already halfway there. We are seeking folks with great attitudes, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to jump in wherever and whenever needed. This is a full-time position of 4-5 shifts per week.

As our Dishwasher you will:

  • Set up dish pit ensuring chemicals are properly stocked and connected

  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas
  • Other cleaning tasks as needed
  • Minor prep tasks as needed

Tasting Room Manager

As our new Tasting Room Manager, you will report to the Tasting Room & Kitchen General Manager and be responsible the direct oversight of the team that services our 220+ seat restaurant and bar, retail shop, and guest tours program.

Responsibilities Include:

Associate General Counsel

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring an Associate General Counsel to join our growing team.

As our new Associate General Counsel, you will develop expertise in the practice areas of state and federal alcohol beverage regulation, three-tier distribution, trade practices, commercial, intellectual property, advertising, and e-commerce.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides day to day counsel on complex legal matters as an integral part of the Cutwater management team
  • Advises sales and marketing personnel on alcohol beverage regulatory issues including the execution of sales and marketing activities and promotions, and management of commercial transactions
  • Reviews route to market for new and existing products, including use of emerging channels such as e-commerce
  • Represents and protects Cutwater in wholesaler disputes and related litigation
  • Frequently interacts with federal and state regulatory authorities on new product innovations

  • Run food and drinks to tables
  • Greet guests and provide guest assistance
  • Buss tables (as needed)
  • Provide exceptional guest experiences
  • Be a part of a growing family passionate about craft spirits

Production Team Member

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring for Production (Packaging) team members to join our growing Production Team.

As our newest Production Team Member, you will:

  • Work on packaging lines (canning and bottling)
  • Use a forklift to move materials and finished products
  • Unload packaging materials from pallets
  • Load finished products onto pallets
  • Maintain cleanliness of the distillery warehouse

The right applicants will:

  • Love to work hard while having fun
  • Be super smart and have a great attitude
  • Have full-time availability, 40+ hours a week
  • Have a flexible work schedule (including weekends as needed)
  • Have a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Naturally think and act like an owner

We are looking for individuals who are hard-working, dedicated, and quick to learn.

Forklift experience is preferred, but not a necessity. No beverage industry experience required.
