Sales Representative, Los Angeles

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Sales Representative based in Los Angeles to join our growing team.

Determined to grow market share in all segments of the business, our Sales Representatives are responsible for growing the company portfolio and engaging consumers through point of sale, shelf assortment, and creative displays at retail accounts. In addition, our Sales Representatives identify new market and business opportunities to increase market share while building and maintaining relationships with accounts and retailers. The Sales Representative will work independently under the loose general guidance of the Regional Sales Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive sales in off-premise and on-premise retail business
  • Assist with merchandising and the implementation of programming in chain locations
  • Achieve distribution, display space, and shelf placement objectives in off-premise retail accounts
  • Secure menu features, back bar placement, and promotions to bring brand awareness in on-premise retail accounts

Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager will be accountable for all distillery, warehouse, and restaurant/kitchen maintenance objectives. These objectives include corrective and preventative maintenance, spare parts, overall equipment reliability, and safety. This position is responsible for asset reliability, and for coordinating, planning, and timely completion of all maintenance activities.  They set the parameters for daily responsibilities and activities of the Maintenance Technicians.  This position works autonomously under the general loose direction of the Vice President of Operations.  This leadership position is essential for the Cutwater Spirits to operate at the desired level.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage plant-wide maintenance maximizing asset reliability, uptime, and cost effectiveness with available resources improving overall equipment efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop floor, welding area, and spare parts area while ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Provide direct supervision, technical direction, administrative support, and leadership for the Maintenance team.
  • Orchestrate and participate in activities to further drive technical efficiencies of existing organizational processes.
  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Build planned and preventative maintenance schedules for all distillery/warehouse and restaurant/kitchen assets.
  • Implement team accountability and work order performance tools to deliver optimal asset uptime.
  • Annually review recommended spare parts list for all assets, and build a critical spare parts inventory.
  • Lead a team that delivers quality work through strong collaboration and innovative problem-solving approaches through direction, coaching, counseling, and training and development.
  • Schedule team building functions, recognize individual and team achievements, encourage an environment of working hard while having fun.
  • Lead department initiatives/projects including short- and longer-term training plans to close team gaps.
  • Ensures all packaging management tools are in place to guide employee safety, product quality, and overall needs of the production department.
  • Manages and improves upon production KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Fill in and cover critical tasks when direct reports are out of the office.
  • Owns daily and weekly work order planning, assignment and weekly work order review at production meetings.
  • Support CapEx project planning, completion, integration, install, and training.
  • Owns maintenance team schedule and coverage planning.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance calls.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated competency with maintenance of distilling systems and supporting equipment, packaging systems and supporting equipment, general craftsmanship and quality maintenance practices.
  • Advanced forklift and scissor lift experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow through, and commitment to quality.
  • Proven ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and delegate work under constantly shifting business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or related field, or combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of technical food and/or beverage production relevant maintenance experience, including the operation of some power-driven equipment.
  • Boiler Maintenance and Operations Certified, preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of MMS (Preventative Maintenance Software), preferred.

Work often takes place at high elevations utilizing a lift. This is an active role that requires frequent operation of a variety of machines/equipment/tools and lifting up to 50lbs.

Quality Technician

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Quality Technician to join our growing team.

Our new Quality Technician, performs quality control checks on products during the production cycle to ensure items meet safety regulations and consistent product specifications. The Quality Technician I is involved in the entire course of manufacturing including shelf-life stability. They inspect components prior to processing, analyze products during production, and test finished goods. They support the ongoing lab environment by maintaining glassware; maintaining logs and record books; troubleshooting and resolving problems; helping with special projects. This position works under the direction of the Director of Quality.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Daily Testing and monitoring of fermentations/distillations, production, packaging, and food grade facility.
  • Collects samples and runs pre-operation, in-process, and post-operation testing for pH, ABV/proof, color, metals, ATP swabbing, etc.
  • Packaging checks include CO2, O2, fill levels and volumes, labels, code dates, glass deviation, can variations, etc.
  • Record and report testing results.
  • Preforms calibration and verification for all laboratory equipment.
  • Follow and practice GMP’s, Food Safety, SOPs, and Safety procedures.
  • Communicate and promote continuous quality and safety throughout Cutwater.
  • Laboratory housekeeping which includes maintaining cleanliness of work space and equipment.

Warehouse Technician I

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Warehouse Technician to join our growing team.

The Warehouse Technician is an experienced Warehouse team member who supports warehouse activities transporting raw materials and finished goods throughout the distillery, loading and off-loading of trucks for receipt/shipment, and the building and delivering of Tasting Room orders using the forklift. This position works under the direction of the Director of Supply Planning.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Using forklifts and pallet jacks to transport finished goods and raw materials around the warehouse.
  • Loading and unloading of trucks at dock.
  • Arranges and stages finished goods loads for orders, aligning with production schedule to ensure timely staging of finished goods orders for shipping.
  • Escalates issues to management
  • Receive and distribute raw materials throughout organization.
  • Stack and palletize finished product and prepare for storage.
  • Use a forklift to move materials and finished products.
  • Shuttle packaging between warehouses utilizing company truck.
  • Unload packaging materials from pallets.
  • Load finished products onto pallets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of primary and secondary warehouses.
  • Assist in the management of finished goods inventory.
  • Assist in the management of packaging materials inventory.
  • Assist in the maintenance of inventory for sales racking.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions, rules and guidelines.
  • Performing duties of Production team member when needed.

This is an active role that requires routine lifting of 40-60 lbs and where you are required you to be on a forklift and/or on your feet all day.

Warehouse Technician III Lead / Driver

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Warehouse Technician III Lead / Driver to join our growing team.

The Warehouse Technician III Lead / Driver position acts as gate controller for all inbound and outbound shipments. They organize and maintain inventory and stock control. They ensure that the storage areas and warehouse is kept clean and tidy, which includes identifying areas where processes could be improved. The Warehouse Technician III Lead /Driver is responsible for the accurate pulling, monitoring and record-keeping of all outbound shipments and the receiving and distribution of deliveries. They utilize reports to maintain their knowledge of the warehouse inventory. The Warehouse Technician III Lead /Driver prepares and processes all paperwork relating to the shipping of orders for customers. They will also be responsible for the transferring of raw materials and finished products between the various Cutwater warehouses and all record-keeping of all transfer/delivery vehicles per DOT standards. This position works under the loose general direction of the Director of Supply Planning.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing inbound/outbound shipments and schedule.
  • Stack and palletize finished product and prepare for storage.
  • Coordinating shipment schedules with Production and Supply Chain teams.
  • Manage finished goods inventory.
  • Manage packaging materials inventory.
  • Maintain inventory for sales racking.
  • Use a forklift to move materials and finished products.
  • Shuttle packaging between warehouses utilizing company truck.
  • Unload packaging materials from pallets.
  • Load finished products onto pallets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of primary and secondary warehouses.
  • Assist in production records management.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions, rules and guidelines.
  • Be a contributing member of a process driven team.
  • Drive commercial delivery trucks, vans, and/or tractor-trailer combinations to transfer raw materials and finished products between warehouse locations.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork, documenting the transfer of items.
  • Ensure accurate completion of Department of Transportation checklist and report maintenance problems and accidents in a timely manner.
  • Manually load and unload product from end loader truck.
  • Provide support to greater Operations Team as needed.

  • Scheduling flexibility – ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, nights/overnights, and overtime as needed.

Production

Cutwater Spirits is currently hiring a Production team member to join our growing team.

The Production team member works on packaging lines to complete various tasks necessary to ship finished products from Cutwater Spirits. The Production Team member is responsible for: can-filling machinery, bottle-filling machinery, boxing machinery, pallet wrapping machinery, and other general production operations. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work on packaging lines (canning and bottling)
  • Use a forklift to move materials and finished products
  • Unload packaging materials from pallets
  • Load finished products onto pallets
  • Maintain cleanliness of the distillery warehouse
  • Follows SOPs to ensure that products are packaged consistently
  • Works closely with the Production Manager to ensure smooth operation of packaging machinery and equipment
  • Performs daily start-up and clean-up procedures on all assigned packaging stations
  • Works with maintenance employees/personnel to assist with equipment problems and troubleshooting
  • Performs daily basic maintenance for machinery
  • Assists in the production records management
  • Works to achieve packaging/distribution short and long-term goals and metrics
  • Adheres to all safety precautions, rules and guidelines
